Hold-down Plate or Bed Limiters for fixing
Hold-down Plate/Bed Limiters:
Bed Limiters, or holddowns as they are also called, are used to limit the packing bed from moving and getting packing pieces entrained away from the bed. They are secured to the wall or loosely placed on the packing;they are made of rods and bars or in combination with screens or expanded metal, depending on the application. Hold-down plate can be made in various metals and plastics.
it is situated directly upon a packed bed to provent the movement or discharge of the packings. They are particularly necessary in sucha cases where packing can experience uplift due to hihg gas loading or sporadic pressure surges. In addition, they can be used to separate packing of different sizes to avoid mixing of different packing inside the column.
Installation:
1. it either sit directly on top of the packed bed or are mechanically attached to the vessel wall.
2. to hang them directly from the liquid distributor and redistributor.
3. it can be integrated into the design of the liquid distributor or redistributor.
